Psychedelic Trips To Death - Jesus Wants Her To Kill

It’s one of these songs that by the time you hear it, you just want to break everything in the room with no explanations why! Greece’s own Psychedelic Trips To Death raises up the bar of testosterone, reaching some great heights, with Jesus Wants Her To Kill. A masterful psychedelic rockn’roll song that goes back and forth from the muddy, furious shoegaze of A Place To Bury Stranges to the electric space sounds of Spacemen 3, all placed in an excellent songwriting form that makes this an urban classic for the years to come!!!

The You And What Army Faction - James Letdown, Triple Six

The dark, slow burning chords of a blurred figure, the haunting vocals of a threatening lyricist, the rocking and heavy jam of a song that influences you whether you want it or not and a band rooted in Greece determined to leave their mark and forces you to remember them! The You And What Army Faction’s James Letdown, Triple Six is a staggering and sinister, painted in black psychedelic rock triumph with all the reverbs and noisy sounds that make this a ticking bomb!!! Prepare to get dirty….

Deathday - Dead Voices

The first time i met with Deathday was in the End Of Civilization compilation which was curated by Mushy and it was love at first sight. Now the L.A. band has a split 12” coming out with Bestial Mouths through Desire Records, with Dead Voices unfolding the dark veil of hypnotic post punk and the stray psychedelic fusion of an isolated, cold place surrounded by sharpened guitars and abstract ambience.

Bestial Mouths/Deathday split 12” will be released in a ltd edition of 500 and you can pre-order it here.

Tender Age - The Last Thing That Kept Me Here

I felt overwhelmed from the opening tunes of The Last Thing That Kept Me Here. Portland’s Tender Age is a shiny mixture of everything that you’ve loved back in the ’90s. The sadcore atmospher of Low, the ambient melancholy of Mazzy Star, the frenzy sad guitars of Field Mice and even the spacious chords of Joy Division (i know it’s not in the ’90s but still…) are all here in the most charming way possible. Press play so to witness the revival glory sound of the past from a band that you should keep your eyes on.

Tender Age EP is available for free download at their bandcamp page.

Just Handshakes - London Bound

Leeds based band Just Handshakes did this dreamy 8mm video for their latest single London Bound (directed by Cherry Kino). Their fuzzy, c-86 inspired pop sound gets the visuals it deserves with these random analogue footage (from the year that they were born!) that feels trippy and romantic while their frenzy guitars and indie pop narrative enslaves your nostalgic minds with pure bliss.

Just Handshakes’s London Bound single is available for free download via Bleeding Gold Records while their debut LP, Say It, will drop sometime later this year.

CONCLAVE - Melted
Marching his way through Phillipines, 23 year old producer CONCLAVE has unleashed the masterful shoegaze-y and downtempo lullaby of Melted. With the siren vocals of Berna So, CONCLAVE is painting a surrealistic dream in minimal forms that turns out to be an upbeat monster in its own terms. Stream it below and wait for an upcoming EP to drop soon…

John War - Warmer Climes
From the deepest vaults of history’s sunshine screwed pop, Chicago’s experimental popper John War hit jackpot with Warmer Climes. An underwater pop exercise of fasten guitar lines and lo-fi sensitivities that places together a verdure of psyched out feast that could call in today’s whole crazy gang. From Ariel Pink to Girls Names to whoever you want….

Wavering Hands - I Remember Nothing
Swiss dream pop band Wavering Hands got under my radar with the first listen of I Remember Nothing. The irresistible eerie layers that these guys are paving with this song is simply stunning. With the sweet after taste that Wild Nothing left you once, Wavering Hands are following their own path of musical style with the jangly guitars carrying a moody attitude that it just feels right. Below you can listen the gorgeous and wandering (?) delight of I Remember Nothingand here you can stream/download the entire EP.

The 5 piece band works its way in the immensity of the lonely desert, a muffled strike of low edged guitars and Beach House harmonies easily floating in the air like a guardian ghost. Past In The Trashis having a fascinated ride with its charming folk that captures an old fashioned sound in a remarkable way. Fleeting Joys - Kiss A Girl In Black

image

California’s Fleeting Joys are back with a new single and anyone who’s impatient for the new MBV to hit the world, will find comfort in Kiss A Girl In Black. With the psychedelic strangeness of Brian Jonestown Massacre and the wall of sound and swirling guitars of My Bloody Valentine, Fleeting Joys are keeping the spirit of shoegaze alive and proud since they round up everything you’ve ever loved in this term! The power, the romance, the raw emotions…. A shiny crazy diamond!!!!

Kiss A Girl In Black is available for download (1$) at their bandcamp page.

DeathDay - After Dark

image

Ok, let’s face the facts here. Name of the band: DeathDay. Name of the song: After Dark. You can almost feel the rage and aggressiveness from the headlines only. But only when the heavy bassline drops in and the thunder drums kick in you can sense the medieval ’80s recostructing like a dark ritual from the underground. This Los Angeles quartet seems to know better then anyone else the unique use of torned guitars in an industrialized production and they hit the jackpot with After Dark. Actually, so did we….

DeathDay’s After Dark will be included in The End Of Civilization LP compilation that will drop in February 2013 via Mannequin Label.

Jules and James - Rattle

image

Philadelphia girl/boy duo Jules and James is adopting a dirty rockn’roll attitude in the shoegaze/darkwave delight Rattle that comes in the form of a thunderstruck in your speakers. A powerfull old-fashioned song in the veins of The Raveonettes that preps the ground for its hidden groove and vagrant noise to liberate the soulful and dark obsessed guitar lines right in your face…. Don’t be afraid to go deep in their sounds!!!

Veronica Falls - Teenage

New beautiful placed song by psych pop darlings Veronica Falls from their upcoming album Waiting For Something To Happen. Teenage captures the british invasion of the late ’80s/early ’90s and idealizes the american slide guitar sound in something bigger than life that a twee pop song could ever be….. So catchy that it almost hurts!!!!

Kult Country - Tide

There are sometimes where music and lyrics collide into one. An intimate affair that starts unfolding in front of your eyes and get yourself caught in the middle. Manchester’s Kult Country managed to create a situation like this with Tide. A perfect, conjuring dream pop lullaby that bursts in the end with its noisy yet resistless wall of guitars and transcends your worries of what music is all about! Here is a band to place in your radar….

Lazyeyes - Forever

Brooklyn’s dream pop/surf punk trio Lazyeyes are about to drop their debut EP anytime soon but until then here is the catchy indie anthem Forever. A tropical singalong and thunderous six-string brainstorm of some of the most memorable garage pop tunes that you’re about to listen in the near future. Sweet…
