Deathday - Dead Voices

The first time i met with Deathday was in the End Of Civilization compilation which was curated by Mushy and it was love at first sight. Now the L.A. band has a split 12” coming out with Bestial Mouths through Desire Records, with Dead Voices unfolding the dark veil of hypnotic post punk and the stray psychedelic fusion of an isolated, cold place surrounded by sharpened guitars and abstract ambience.

Tender Age - The Last Thing That Kept Me Here

I felt overwhelmed from the opening tunes of The Last Thing That Kept Me Here. Portland’s Tender Age is a shiny mixture of everything that you’ve loved back in the ’90s. Leeds based band Just Handshakes did this dreamy 8mm video for their latest single London Bound (directed by Cherry Kino). DeathDay - After Dark

Ok, let’s face the facts here. Name of the band: DeathDay. Name of the song: After Dark. You can almost feel the rage and aggressiveness from the headlines only. But only when the heavy bassline drops in and the thunder drums kick in you can sense the medieval ’80s recostructing like a dark ritual from the underground. This Los Angeles quartet seems to know better then anyone else the unique use of torned guitars in an industrialized production and they hit the jackpot with After Dark. Actually, so did we….

DeathDay’s After Dark will be included in The End Of Civilization LP compilation that will drop in February 2013 via Mannequin Label.
