Paul White - Watch The Ants

Another new track from the forthcoming Paul White release, Watch The Ant EP, sees the light of day. The opening track goes for a psychedelic ride through tribal drums and wonky afro exits that marks an even weirder psyched out turn than some of his previous efforts but definitely one of the most exciting moments that Mr. Paul White has ever offered us!!!

Super Mario - Moog Rebetis

Greek producer Super Mario goes a long trip back to ’70s psychedelia which he wonderfully combines it with ’60s surf sounds! Moog Rebetis is a mixture of Greek psychedelic and eastern music that surfaces through analog interpretations and collides into your brain with the force of an out of control truck! This is the triumphant dance for the outcasts!!!!

Psychedelia In Anatole 7” is available for purchase via Amola Kalimba Records.

Fantastikoi Hxoi - Dream Weapon

Here comes the psych…. Fantastikoi Hxoi has released a new free EP, the Dream Weapon EP. Psychedelic, ambient, jazz interludes, psych folk in strictly electronic forms that expands the mind and soul! The closing track, Dream Weapon, recalls Thievery Corporation’s greatest moments, a chill/late night tranquilizer which acts immediately letting your senses loose and unprotective but absolutely free! An addictive and candle lighted soul-psych that freshes up your inner listener. How beautiful is that???

You can download Dream Weapon EP on Fantastikoi Hxoi’s site.

Dexter - Once Again Back (Tune In)

It’s the kind of sound that smells summer. German producer Dexter brings the ’60s psychedelic rock into the hip hop scene with the bouncy, old skool and funk attitude forming a raw upbeat soul. This is what Once Again Back (Tune In), the opening track from the excellent The Trip LP, is aiming for and (oh-lord) you can feel the earth shaking beneath your feet!!! This is how psych/hip hop should sound like!!! Blaxploited vibes in the most compelling and danceable rhythm…

The Trip is available in cd, vinyl and digital and can be ordered here.

Jesse Ruins - Laura Is Fading

Japanese trio Jesse Ruins is set release their forthcoming LP, A Film, on Desire Records during this month. Laura Is Fading is a fine cut of their abrasive dream pop tincture that this band is so thoroughly chasing. A blast in the past, a dive into a cinematic kaleidoscope that swirls your psychedelic appetite round and round ‘till it settles down in the synth and guitar driven stereoscopic universe!

Dally - Gloom Gun

Based in Los Angeles, California the four piece band named Dally won my admiration with the honest intentions that bloomed in their debut EP, The Shine. A strange mixture of doo wop, psych pop and post punk that raises a sad feeling from its lonely chords and foggy atmosphere. Stream above the loneliness of Gloom Gun in all its glory, a desolate sensation of the urban isolated individualism that breaks its chains along with the dream pop vocals and allienated guitars, and head over at Dally’s bandcamp page to download The Shine EP in its entity….

Hookworms - Away Towards

A powerful, brain damaged psychedelic whirlwind is about to hit your speakers with Hookworms’s Away Towards. The Leeds based quintet is heading towards a monumental labyrinth full of epic kraut grooves, wrath edging guitar hooks, psychedelic farfisa sounds and soulful garage/punk vocals, ready to stage a party in the same place that’ve been trapped in! An absolute rocker taken from an album that has already locked its spot in the best album of the year’s list!!! Don’t sleep on this…

Pearl Mystic LP/cd is out now via Gringo Records and you can place your orders here.

Schonwald  - Gemini

Italy’s finest fuzz, post punk duo, Schonwald, just dropped their Mercurial 7” via Hozac Records. You’ve already heard the a-side, so now it’s time for the band to shake things up a little bit more with the dark, electrified psychedelic dream punk (!) of Gemini. The perfect soundtrack to a starless nightfall to haunt your memories and keep your ass on the edge of your seat with the Soft Moon’s reminiscent atmosphere hovering in your mind!!!

Mercurial 7” is availble for purchase over here.

Gary War - Find Our Way

Gary War’s underrated Jared’s Lot LP was one of 2012’s best releases out there. The weird, medieval psychedelic influences that War uses are an irresistible force to his underwater pop manifest. Today Gary War uploaded at his soundcloud page the song Find Our Way, taken from that LP, and i felt obligated to refresh the memory of the listeners out there about the quirky genious of this artist. An uncompromising pop song taken from the mind and soul one of today’s otherwordly musicians!

Jared’s Lot LP can still be purchased over here.

Ratchet Kills - Steer Clear

I’ve been waiting for some time now for Ratchet Kills to drop his debut album and well….. this time has come! .alpha.omega.beta. is an occult of some hybrid, psych soul and street pop art sonic desires that flourishes in its atmospheric ground almost immediately. Somewhere in the half of the album strikes the hypnagogic soul delight of ‘Steer Clear’, with all the synth flavored and psychedelic hip hop strangeness sounding like a shining old school pop diamond carrying all the irresistible dust and rust that makes this listening a superb experience.

.alpha.omega.beta. album is available for streaming and free download on Ratchet Kills’s bandcamp page. Do yourself a favour and grab this little gem!

Ruby Ridge - No Shade

There are times were the only thing that can touch you is a strictly emotional, psychedelic shape of music picked up from a lost place of an unknown location! Massachusetts’s Ruby Ridge with No Shade are boarding in the same haunted train where acts from Not Not Fun have been there before, with no terminal in their minds but just the endless ride of their chaotic, unearthly pop music based in its tribalism of the psychedelic weirdness yet holding strong the restrained melodic interiority the way Prince Rama or even Laurel Halo do in its most bombastic way!!!

My Drunken Haze - Pleasing Illusions

Finally, Greek based psychedelic masketeers My Drunken Haze dropped their debut EP, Pleasing Illusions, dedicated to anyone who feels nostalgic to those slow burning guitars of the past. Hauntingly downbeat and purely psychedelic, the self-titled song unveils a dreamy multi-layer canva of raw-Brian-Jonestown-Massacre-meets-Black-Angels-sound, deeply rooted in the ’70s opium blossomed sonic power..

You can stream Pleasing Illusions EP by clicking here.

Pati Yang - I Am Ready
UK based songstress Pati Yang returns with a new song and readies her debut album so to drop sometime this year. I Am Readyis a toxicated psychedelic labyrinth that wedges inside you like a beautiful thorn, varying its inspirations from the vagrant bloke of PJ Harvey, the strange unearthly haze of Anna Calvi and the psychedelic heritage of the Californian desert. It feels like a female rival of Black Angels with the sensual wilderness struggling to find a chink of light, just so to feel free…. You’ll probably going to love every second of it!

Verity Susman - The Philip Glass Ceiling

image

Verity Susman was the voice of Brighton band Electrelane and after their departure from the then musical things it’s the first time she tries something solo. Listening to The Philip Glass Ceiling i noticed how much i missed them. Not that she’s trying to do something that her band would do, but these krauting synths were kind of a trademark. Well, here are in full frontal while the thunder drums and the desperate shouts give a dancing vibe that you’d wish to last forever. An unexpected entrance to your musical map from an old friend to make your body shiver in a psychedelic vertigo…..

Fleeting Joys - Kiss A Girl In Black

image

California’s Fleeting Joys are back with a new single and anyone who’s impatient for the new MBV to hit the world, will find comfort in Kiss A Girl In Black. With the psychedelic strangeness of Brian Jonestown Massacre and the wall of sound and swirling guitars of My Bloody Valentine, Fleeting Joys are keeping the spirit of shoegaze alive and proud since they round up everything you’ve ever loved in this term! The power, the romance, the raw emotions…. A shiny crazy diamond!!!!

Kiss A Girl In Black is available for download (1$) at their bandcamp page.
