The Skywalkers - Lord Can You Hear Us?

This isn’t a new one. When you press play you might believe that it’s a 60’s lost, rare jam! Actually, this Netherlands based duo released only one album 3 years ago and that’s it. After that came the complete slilence. When i’ve first heard it a couple days ago i felt all these thrills climbing up my body and slowly digged with methodic moves a tunnel through me! Raw in production, farfisa bulding melodies, psych pop in the most original term and absolutely ’60s in its sound and style! And God, what a style? You can lose yourself in it’s perfection!

You can stream/download Year One LP on The Skywalkers bandcamp page and enter a world of fuzz, freakbeat melodism!!!

My Body - Pyramids (Frank Ocean Cover)

Brooklyn’s synth pop darlings My Body made a wonderful cover on Frank Ocean’s Pyramids. From the mind blowing opening over some serious psych dub marching rhythms to the sultry female pop vocals softly covered with the ’70s sounds of a psychedelic guitar, this cover could easily be cofused for an original! Take some time and listen ‘cause this might be one of the best covers the year 2013 has offered us….

COSMO V - White Power

Netherlands based female artist COSMO V strikes again with a delightful and colorful new tune. White Power drags a tropical essence in the heart of a psychedelic pop seed. A bedroom pop sonate covered in fuzzy, opium upbeat rhythms that in such ease blends the tropicalia sounds of an exotic place with the diy melodies of the far east! Α fresh cooler to spice your warm nights… Beauty….

Γιος Της Αφής - Αδέξιο Τοπίο

It was impossible not to let my self loose into these clappy funky sounds that Gios Tis Afis created with this song. Recorded and mixed from Baby Guru’s King Elephant, Aris Diamantis is floating in a psych funk sea of an old skool groove that flourishes in his soft pop vocals and building this happy/sad feeling where you don’t know whether you should dance or just sit and enjoy this unexpected time travel!!! What ever you do though, there’s no question that this is a pure bliss….

Gios Tis Afis is now recording his forthcoming album with King Elephant.

LAMBS - Freak Flag

Have you missed a straight forward psychedelic rock band? Well, Ontario’s LAMB are here to drill your senses with their ’60s inspired sharpened sound and heavy guitar driven bombastic songwriting! A fine example comes with Freak Flag, a seductive mixture of Black Angels strictly psych obsessions with a twist from Arctic Monkeys British invasion on the vocal duties! A suitable match up that certainly pays off while Freak Flag goes deep into a smokey labyrinth filled with mazy, groovy branches….

You can download/stream LAMBS first release for free on their bandcamp page.

The Vendetta Suite - Baby Blue

Gary Irwin was a busy man during the ’90s and i can’t say that he felt tired during the ’00s! He’s worked at David Holmes’ Exploding Plastic Inevatible Studio as an engineer, co-written tracks with Holmes, composed soundtrack for movies, remixed quite a few artists, released techno music under various names and the list keeps going! But as it seems Irwin has many unreleased songs in his luggage and he felt the need to share it to the world under the moniker The Vendetta Suite. Baby Blue was written back in 2008 but the ’60s girl group power and the Phil Spector’s wall of sound indicate a love for the black and white and the power of old fashioned soulful, psych pop. Such an intimate catchy song dressed with the dolly vocals of Cara Robinson that feels like a classic…. Beautiful!!!

Tv Girl & Monster Rally - Average Guy (Blame)

Tv Girl has added vocals and a new arrangement to Monster Rally’s track Blame off of the Beyond The Sea LP. The result is a tropical, feel good and uptempo psych pop delight that feels instantly like an old favorite while the smile on your face is not going to fade away anytime soon…

Average Guy is being released in anticipation of Tv Girl and Monster Rally’s very special performances in Los Angeles and San Diego.

Jai Paul - Untitled 7 (Jennifer Paige Cover)

Ok, this is a surprise! Is there anyway XL Records let Jai Paul release on the web any unreleased material??? As it seems, yesterday Jai Paul uploaded on bandcamp an untitled album of 16 tracks with no information about it. These are probably demos that will not be featured on his upcoming album (or the other way around, who knows!!!) but the style and signature of this talented producer is here! Stream above Jai Paul’s excellent hybrid funky pop cover on Jennifer Paige’s Crush and head over here to purchase the whole abum!!! This is a happy Sunday…. (via)

Sinkane - Warm Spell (Larry Gus Remix)

When ever i see a new Larry Gus effort hitting the net, i feel this warmfelt excitement taking all over me. So, this wonderful tropical, trippy and psychedelic disco/dub remix of his on Sinkane’s Warm Spell couldn’t be less than absolute perfection! Stream the magical sounds of Larry Gus above and beware for his debut album on DFA to drop sometime soon….

September Girls - Talking

All Irish, all female fuzz pop quintet September Girls are about to release their latest 7”, Talking EP, on April 24 via Cork’s Art for Blind Records. Stream above the furious noise/garage pop of Talking, a ’60s wall of sound maestry on the soulful raw attack of those cheerful danceable vibes that you’re about to confront, and watch below the playful cartoon based video that they’ve conceived as a band with special powers ready to save the world directed by Leigh Arthur. Music is their power…

Pete Sun - Αλκυόνη

It’s one of those cases where the music takes up the role of the traveller. Greek musician Pete Sun is determined to smooth your soul and mind with Αλκυόνη (Halcyon), a mid tempo diy, psych pop instrumental that creates a dream affair with the nostalgic, hidden memories of your optimistic past or hopefully your happy future. A playful serenade to cherrish your ears in the   clear night sky…

Αλκυόνη (Halcyon) is available for free download via Pink Motel Records.

Co La - Deaf Christian

Baltimore based psych/tropical pop producer Co La returns after a long absence with a new addictive tune. Deaf Christian is made to be played in a tropical paradise with its repetitive vocal samples launching a long term vacation while his deep and cool as hell voice paves a coconut based collage/dream pop in strictly minimal forms yet so upbeat in its own terms that you can feel your spine shivers from this ultimate joy!

Gary War - Find Our Way

Gary War’s underrated Jared’s Lot LP was one of 2012’s best releases out there. The weird, medieval psychedelic influences that War uses are an irresistible force to his underwater pop manifest. Today Gary War uploaded at his soundcloud page the song Find Our Way, taken from that LP, and i felt obligated to refresh the memory of the listeners out there about the quirky genious of this artist. An uncompromising pop song taken from the mind and soul one of today’s otherwordly musicians!

Jared’s Lot LP can still be purchased over here.

Edible Arrangements - Dark Water

Brighton noir/psych pop darlings Edible Arrangements offer some serious shivers with Dark Water. A Stereolab-esque collage of infusing organ pop and creepy psychedelic girl power that hits bullseye with the raw vocal treatment of an otherwordly siren residing in your haunted, twisted mind! In other words, this is something not to be missed or passed by from the ones (considering myself!) who are still mourning the loss of Electrelane!!!

Edible Arrangements cs is available for pre-order via Comfortable On A Tight Rope.

Sheer Agony - Goodbye Cream

Fixture Records is re-issuing Sheer Agony’s Unruly Sisters EP, which was previously available as a tour EP at their shows. Montreal’s ‘60’s flower pop revivalists are heading towards a psych pop delirium with Goodbye Cream, a tour de force guitar driven solace that is so catchy you can almost share its vibes through Animal’s pop myth!

Unruly Sisters EP is out now in a limited run of 100 copies on black cassettes in black plastic cases with black and white fold-over j-card covers via Fixture Records.
