French For Rabbits - Goat

Stunning dream folk whispers from N.Z. darlings French For Rabbits. While my first met with the band was with Goat, the intimate feelings i had by listening to it made a fake impression that it’s been a long relationship between me and them! The warm signals that Goat emits can’t live anyone untouched with the contradiction of the rough velvet voice and the eerie percussion! This duo came to stay!

Post Louis - Oldsmobile

For a debut song i have to say that this is pretty awesome! The London based duo of Post Louis unveil with Oldsmobile a dreamy yet haunting folk pop side that is more than rare for a first song, while the gentle electronics slowly take over the control with the soulful  female vocal standing proudly behind the wheel. It carries this eerie aura of xx (this time it is a good thing!) with the standing, chilling isolated emotions of Bon Iver. This is quite amazing… (via)

Irene Skylakaki - In The Light

It’s impossible not to feel all these sharing emotions that this Greek songstress is putting on the table. Irene Skylakaki is showing her heart out there in the mean and frozen world, trying to to make it a better place. Even if it lasts less than five minutes, the romance of her voice will make you a better and kinder person! And this is not an easy task….

Baby Guru - Dolomite Jollity

While the ’70s have never left our lives in one way or another (even though we weren’t even born then!), Greece’s own Baby Guru came here to remind us that we simply didn’t want to! Dolomite Jollity carries this psychedelic progress in it’s heavy intro with the British invasion leeringly laughing over the hammond and the unexpected twist in 1:26 making you wish that the funk interlude would last forever!!!! Gorgeous stuff…

Pieces LP is out on October 1st via Inner Ear Records.

Four Visions - About Us

Brooklyn native Daniel Abary returns with his Four Visions moniker, on his own this time, with About Us. Another stunning song with this on and going tropical, folk, dream pop silent madness that sounds like a blessing that you’ve stumbled upon it! Sean Blackthorn - +Girls II

Toronto based indie rn’b artist Sean Blackthorn released his debut EP a few days ago and i’ve got to say i’m kind of awed from what i’ve heard! Minimal, emotional with some folk-lorian isolated tenderness waving all through this release! Check the wonderful lonely and folk-ish rn’b little masterpiece of +Girls II and click here to download his [One] Night EP.

Wickerbird - The Fold

I have to say that my mind went travelling to the vast expanses of the mountains with the sorrow melodies of Blake Cowan aka Wickerbird. From the opening track of The Crow Mother LP you can sense the sadness and loneliness that this guy is feeling! The Fold feels too lonely to be recorded in New York than let’s say over some wild mountains but we all know that the big city is a bitch!

Listen to the magical, introspective melodies of The Fold and click here to stream the whole LP.

Nadine Carina - Where I Love

Swiss multi-instrumentalist Nadine Carina sings the shiny side of life and love on ”Where I Love”. Let this surf pop hymn climb up your skin and feel these ’60s tambourines going deep within…. This was such a sweet surprise!

You can catch some older releases by Nadine Carina on her bandcamp page.

2econd Class Citizen - No Destination

Today is the day that Equinox Records drops the second full length by UK producer Aaron Thomason aka 2econd Class Citizen. But just before its release they gave away a new single from the album to shake things up a little bit! ”No Destination” joins the two big loves of 2econd Class Citizen, the ’70s psychedelic folk instrumentation with the DJ Shadow’s hip hop dark tendencies resulting to a cinematic black shade of unchained melodies!

The Small Minority LP is available for purchase via Equinox Records.

Nice song accompanied by a beautifully shot video from Satellites. The black & white frames are holding hands with the euphoric and kind of brooding pop sounds that Johnny Vic has delivered. All these are combining perfectly, audio and visually, on ”Satellites Railway”, a video directed by Tim Walker.

01 by Satellites is available on double 10” and cd via Rough Trade Shops.

The Paris Grove - Her Eyes

Jim Parish and Spir Frelini are making music under the name The Parish Grove. No, in this post you’ll not find any beats of any kind or any electronic landscapes! The Grecian duo on the instrumental ”Her Eyes” are expanding their sound in a cinematic, nouvelle vague heaven full of chill out psychedelic pop mood with some regards to the flower age!!! Sweet and colourful.

Solid Home Life - Poor Aim

They met in a concert. Greg Olin (GRAVES) and Lindsay Schief (LAKE) start writing songs together after they spent some time hangin’ out and they just clicked! Their debut album as Solid Home Life came out last month and, yes, it was way better than solid! Lush harmonies coming together with horns and the angelic voice of Lindsay in a soft pop, ’70s road trip.Listen to the sweet/tweet/soft pop sounds of  ”Poor Aim” and visit Lost Sound Tapes to order Solid Home Life’s self titled LP on beautiful blue-green vinyl.

Violet - I Come Undone

I am astonished by this brilliant sentimental song by Violet. Though she has taken her name from Hole’s 1994 hit of the same name, on ”I Come Undone” Violet sounds like Nancy Sinatra at the ’60s dragging you down to some painful break up!!!

”Y.O.U./I Come Undone” 7” drops on 14 May via LUV LUV LUV Records and is available for pre-order over here.

While listening to Beachmen’s latest track, i came across to some weird, trippin’ pictures. The band from Salt Lake City fight with their loneliness in the beautiful depressing ”In The Desert”, a strange mixture of psych folk entangled with a dreamy ambience texture that works in absolute perfection!
Listen ”In The Desert” below and visit their bandcamp page if you want to download this little baby for free!

Great romantic, melancholic, sun stretched psychedelic folk melodies flooded my head by listening this marvellous song. ”Source To Sea” is the self titled track from Matthew Sturgess aka Rusty Bear’s debut album, an ode to High Llamas sonic adventures enriched with some ’70s folky sounds reminiscent to Fleet Foxes! A fantastic song that ends up in a sing-along chorus with no chance of letting you out!
The album Source To Sea is out now via Mollusc Records.
